My washer overflowed. Do you know why? I'll tell you how to fix the problem

This is a boring post about your washing machine overflowing. It has a thing called the water level switch or sensor. Now, this thing is cleverly disguised as the switch that says what kinda load you want to wash. small med or large.

There is a hose that comes out of the back of this thing. If that hose is disconnected, your tank will overflow. That's what happened to me. You can't see it, because it's inside the case. So, you want to take the back panel off to see it. How do you take the back panel off, you might say. Ya don't! WARNING!!! UNPLUG MACHINE BEFORE OPENING IT UP SO YOU DON'T DIE!!!! Unplug the machine. On my Kenmore, you pull on the plastic molding pieces on each side of the knob (control) and they pop off like magic. Then unscrew the two screws, on each side and you flip the whole control panel up and out of the way, like a funny car. On each side, you'll see two gold colored springy looking clips. Take a flat screwdriver and pop those suckers off and now the whole casing of the machine can be pulled forward and there's the drum, naked as a jaybird. Follow the hose from the load level (small med large, you know) down to where it hooks into the side of the drum. This is a clear hose about as big as your pinky and about 3 or 4 ft. long. See if the hose came off!! It wouldn't hurt to put a small clamp on there to prevent it from popping off in the future.
Good luck, we're all counting on you.........
